Youth, ages 10 to 18 or enrolled full time in an accredited secondary school working toward a high school diploma, may request deferral to Midland Teen Court at Municipal or Justice Court for most Class C misdemeanor offenses. Class C includes most traffic citations, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Theft under $50, Possession of Tobacco, Curfew Violation, etc. Other cases may be referred to Midland Teen Court as deemed appropriate.

A youth who successfully completes Midland Teen Court may have another citation referred two years after the date of completion.
